I am very proud of this Musical and this is going to be a great production. I will be working along side a metroplex favorite and friend Max Swarmer. This beautiful tale of an Irish woman who broke out of the stereotype role to become a great leader and to go head to head with Queen Elizabeth. A great historical story about two powerful women in the 16th century. And the music comes from the same people who brought you Les Misearables. So don't hesitate and come see this great show.
Although I did not win a column award this year, I am very proud of the fact that I have consistently been nominated for my performances every year that I have been eligible. Three (3) nominations in 2011, Two (2) in 2012, one (1) in 2014 and 2015 and then just recently I received 2 for the 2016 awards year (in 2013 I spent the year performing in productions that were not covered by the columns).
I am very proud and honored that my fellow artist think my work is worthy of consideration and place me in the top 6 (or 10 for this year) in each of my categories. I am also proud that 5 of the 9 nominations including my one win in 2013 for the 2012 award year, are in EQUITY shows.
I am very thankful and humbled to be placed alongside so many extremely talented and great performers and I hope to be able to cont...
I am very honored to have received two nominations this year for the Column awards. One for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for my role as Lazar Wolf in Garland Summer Musicals "Fiddler on the Roof" and one for best Featured actor in a Musical Equity for my role as Fulton in Lyric Stage production of "Of Thee I Sing". Both roles that I am extremely proud of and both great shows. I want to thank the great and talented cast members and directors in both shows who helped to bring out the best in me. Round two voting is going on now for all Column Members so here is hoping for a win, but still very honored for the nominations that have put me beside so many of the top talents in the DFW area. Many thanks to the Columns and those who voted for me and here's crossing my fingers for another win.
The wonderful musical 'Fiddler on the Roof' at Garland Summer musicals performed to sold out audiences last month. The show hit all new records for Theatre. The production was a wonderful merge of the traditional Fiddler that many people are used to with elements of the new revival that is currently on Broadway. The result was a smashing success. The cast featured Randy Pearlman as Tevya, Noel Mason as Golda and Neil Rogers as Lazar Wolf. The audiences loved it and so did the critics. I personally received outstanding reviews and feedback (I encourage those that saw the show to leave their feedback on my talkback section).
One reviewer wrote "As Lazar Wolf, Neil Rogers is in a category in himself. He’s convincing as both the harsh butcher, who obviously already had issues with Tevye, and the promised husband,...
I will be returning to the Wyly theatre at the AT&T Performing Arts Center to perform in another Staged Reading of Shakespeare's King John presented by Shakespeare Dallas. I am excited to be back at Lyric Stage in Irving, TX performing in the romantic musical 'The New Moon' with music by Sigmund Romberg and book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, Frank Mandel, and Laurence Schwab.
I will be playing Jacques, a 'falstafian' sailor of the ship the New Moon. A sidekick to the Boatswain and a loyal follower of the rebelious Robert. This is a fun role and I get to work alongside a group of fantastic actors and singers including the fantastic voices of Kristen Lassiter and Chris Deaton as the leads, along with Sonny Franks, Ryan Appleby, James Williams, Kasey Yeargain, Ben Phillips and a Host of others
The show is of course under the masterful musical direction of the incomperable Jay Dias and under the stage direction of the talented and energetic Andy Baldwin.
I am proud to announce that I have been nominated by for Best Supporting Actyor in a Musical (nonEquity) by the Column Awards for my performance as Jud Fry in Stolen Shakespeare's production of OKLAHOMA!. I am very proud of this role and production and honored to have been selected as one of the 6 nominees for this category.
I love this role and the opportunity to bring out so many levels and nuances of this character. I put a lot of heart and work into Jud, spending 40 minutes before every show applying makeup of dirt, grime, grease, fake sweat and rotting teeth. It was an immersive experience.
I have played this role before and each time I work on Jud I find out more about him and hopefully pull out more for the audience. Singing 'Lonely Room' in this production was probably the most emotionally connected I have performed the son...
